Greater Living Ministries is a Christian-based outreach of SKYLINE COMMUNITY CHURCH. GLM is dedicated to children of the area
near Busia Uganda, mostly orphans, whose need for basic living support is great.
The influx of orphans in Uganda is most noticeable as the World Health Organization (according to a 2007 study) notes that the
occurrence of HIV there is almost 7 times greater than the world average (see WHO file).
While some of these orphans may find homes with others, many are destined to roam the streets in search of the most basic day-to-day
necessities; food, water, clothing, and shelter. They often turn to crime as the only way to survive. If you can imagine that in your own life,
then maybe you can understand the hopelessness of these most vulnerable little ones. Often, they simply die...young, too very young.
JAMES 1:27 (NIV) states this: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and
to keep oneself from being polluted by the world".
Greater Life Ministries takes James 1:27 to heart in the tending to the needs of those orphans in the Busia Uganda area. Supported by
Skyline Community Church and other churchs/individuals* as well, GLM is able to provide these most basic of needs along with housing
and education. Field mission trips to Busia, however, do not fill the support gap that exists.
SCC offers GLM child support via sponsorship opportunities to the public. Through sponsoring a child, you can help restore hope to at
least one child and make a difference that will change their lives (and yours too). Of course, there are other opportunities to support GLM
